In our opinion there are few better feelings than the first time you put on a suit that is truly unique, not only for your body but has been custom made to your lifestyle too. In all aspects of life, if you want the best quality, you need to pay for it. Money is the common factor no matter what it is you’re looking for, and custom clothing is no different.
In this blog we will address why the cost of use outweighs the cost of the suit. Bespoke tailored clothing doesn’t come cheap, but when you think about what it is that you’re buying, it’s much more than any other item of clothing, it’s an investment. You’re investing in the tailor’s time to get to know you, find the best fabrics that suit you and your lifestyle, then to come up with a creation that will show people who you are, before they even meet you.
There are 4 main stages in the process of designing your suit that take place between a tailor and client. To kick off the relationship, there’s the first consultation. Next there’s the second consultation and measuring, the first fitting, the second fitting and then you’re presented with your finished garment.
The work alone that goes into these stages is enough to justify the cost, but the value doesn’t stop there, or a month, or six months or even 10 years down the line, because a well-made suit is going to last you a long time. Through this process we cover everything from the material you want to use, which is the very best of fabric that we can source that will best suit your vibe. How many buttons do you want to have on your suit jacket? Do you want them all to match or have an individual design or fabric for each button? Even the button holes can be altered to suit your needs.
The lining itself is a very important part of a garment and can be a project on it’s own, with each panel having a unique pattern, we have even looked in to the possibility of printing photos on to the lining fabric. It’s something that we can confidently say will be a representation of you as a person. As you can see, a lot of work goes into the stages mentioned above, but something many overlook is the work that goes on behind the scenes.
Sourcing the materials, fabrics and accessories. Taking the time to make a collection of materials into a creation of style that accurately sums up your personality, is going to be time consuming.
